Carmen M. Peters, CPA, MST, CTS

Carmen M Peters is a Certified Public Accountant and a native of South Florida. She is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Accounting and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Taxation.  Carmen co-founded Fernandez-Bergnes & Associates since 1999 alongside her business partner and is also a Certified Tax Strategist™ (CTS). Carmen specializes in advanced tax reduction strategies, corporate financial reporting, international compliance reporting and the accounting for not-for-profit organizations. She and her team of highly-skilled professionals pride themselves in their level of customer focus and satisfaction.

Carmen’s passion for Accounting stems from her love of numbers and problem solving. She has a never ending drive, spirit, and dedication to find the best and most appropriate business and financial solutions for her clients.

Prior to joining Fernandez-Bergnes & Associates, Carmen led the consolidation and SEC reporting department for IVAX Pharmaceuticals and before that she got her start right out of college as a fund accountant at Franklin Templeton as part of the complex securities department.

For over 20 years in public practice, Carmen has been serving her local clients in south Florida and in multiple states as well as her international clients from many regions of Latin America, Europe and the Caribbean. She maintains that her greatest professional achievements are the many relationships she’s kept and grown with her clients that rely on her ability to keep them compliant with the ever changing US tax code while also maximizing their cash flows thru advanced tax planning.
